We are in Cortemilia, in the heart of Upper Langa, a magical and fascinating land waiting to be explored. Vineyards, hazelnut groves and terraces alternate through hills and strips of land flattened by distinctive dry-laid Langa stone walls. Nature here is wild and pristine, and the gaze reaches the mountains from many vantage points.
The Upper Langa area stretches between the Piedmont and Liguria regions, through the wonderful landscape of the Langhe and of Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Here, centuries-old towers and castles, ruins, ancient stone villages and wonderful parish churches dominate the landscape.

The remains of the medieval castle and tower on the terraced hill of Monteoliveto, a headland that houses an ancient monastery right above the Romanesque church; terraces and countless historic buildings scattered over the hills and in the historic center, like the Palazzo della Pretura, now housing a Library.
